The Michelangelo Past Pot is a 5 quart stylish and functional pasta pot that will make your life easier in more ways than one. It is very well and smartly built and will most likely last you a lifetime.

Michelangelo Pasta Pot Design
The German design makes it both look good and be functional

It’s built out of premium stainless steel and has an aluminum core. With it’s bottom impact-bonded aluminum disc layer is ensures an even heating distribution and prevents hot spots while cooking. It’s suitable for cooking anything from pasta to sauces, soups or vegetables and it’s stainless steel interior construction does not react with the food or alter the natural flavors.

The first thing that will catch your eye as you un-box this pot is it’s distinctive design with it’s red handles and red lid cap. Unlike other similar pots that we’ve tested, the handles are not a twist and lock or push and lock system, instead they work by naturally picking up the pot and pressing the handles against the lid with your thumb. Initially we though this would not the best system but it works great, especially since the handles tend to stay much cooler than other pots we’ve tested.

We also want to mention that the cap also acts like a pasta measuring cap. It’s not the best one in our opinion as it only has two preset measuring levels available but it’s better than having to do this all the time. And the lid itself is a tempered glass lid, pretty much what we’ve come to expect from these types of pots. It’s shatter proof and the closure is a tight one.

How the handles and measuring cap work

The lid also has two sets of holes, one larger and one smaller for easy draining of several types of food. Again comparing it to some other pots we’ve reviewed, like the Bialetti Pasta Pot or the Gotham Steel Pot, this pot is a bit heavier, mostly due to it’s stainless steel construction. And speaking of comparisons with these other pots, one negative is that this is not a nonstick pot.

Other things worth mentioning is that this pot also doubles as a dutch oven pot and it also has measurement levels inside of the pot which is a plus to know the exact level of liquid it has. The measurement levels are both in quarts and liters. Overall a very well designed pasta pot that also provides a good dose of versatility. If you want a stainless steel pasta pot with a heavy and sturdy feel to it that also come with a measuring cap than this might be the right choice for you.
