The Bialetti Pasta Pot is an Italian designed pot with a strainer lid that makes booking pasta, potatoes or vegetables a whole lot easier and safer. It features a full aluminum construction with easy straining thanks to the twist and lock lid.
There are 7 colors you can choose from, whichever suits your kitchen best, with the charcoal one being the most popular, this being the original color the pot was released back in the early 2000s with the rest of the colors being released soon after.
Bialetti is an Italian cookware company that is well-know for manufacturing reliable products that also have a very functional design. This 5 quart (~5 litres) pasta not is no exception. It comes with a great value/price ratio and it delivers in every sense of the word.
The aluminum construction makes is sturdy but light-weight at the same time. The aluminum also helps to provide a more even heating during the cooking process.
The interior is PFOA free (which means no Perfluorooctanoic acid) and totally non-stick. It’s oval form allows you to cook all types of pasta from lasagna to spaghetti without breaking them and also fits around sex ears of corn on the cob and is even ideal for boiling two 1-pound lobsters.
Then the main feature of this pot is the strainer lid which retires the old colander. Also the lid is a twist and lock one which makes things very easy and safe.
The handle of the lid as well as the side handles are made out of bakelite plastic which make them heat resistant while also providing a comfortable grip. I would like to mention here is that these are screwed on handles and they do tend to come lose after some time, but it’s just a matter of tightening them every once in a while.
Overall this is one of the best pasta pots with a locking strainer lid, manufactured by Bialetti, an internationally acclaimed cookware brand and the fact that it comes with a 5 year warranty only makes it the obvious and best choice.
